Major League Soccer has announced the schedule and broadcast details for the 2026 MLS regular season. The 2026 season will be highlighted by the opening of Inter Miami CF’s new home base at Miami Freedom Park in April, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in North America this summer. In preparation for the tournament, MLS will go on hiatus, allowing participating players, local venues and fans to enjoy a month of World Cup action before celebrating the return of MLS play in July.

All 510 games of the 2026 MLS regular season will be available on Apple TV in more than 100 countries and territories, giving fans unlimited access to their favorite teams in one place. In addition, select MLS matches will also be available on FOX Sports Network in the U.S. and TSN and RDS in Canada.

The MLS regular season begins on Saturday, February 21st, with each team playing 34 games, 17 home games and 17 away games. Each team will play a conference rival twice (28 games), once at home and once away, and six different opponents from the opposite conference (6 games). The MLS Regular Season will culminate on the final day of the season on Saturday, November 7th, with Decision Day 2026, which will determine who enters and leaves the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs 2026.

MLS Star Match will be held on February 21st and 22nd at MLS Is Back Weekend

The 2026 season will get off to a grand start with 15 opening games held on February 21st and 22nd. St. Louis City SC opens the new season by hosting Charlotte FC at Energizer Park (2:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV). FC Cincinnati then takes on Tata Martino’s Atlanta United at TQL Stadium in the first of 34 2026 FOX Sports games (4:30 p.m. ET, FOX, FOX Deportes, Apple TV). The highlight of the night will be when the Los Angeles Football Club takes on Inter Miami CF in the iconic setting of hosting the game at the legendary Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (9:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV). The next day will feature a doubleheader, starting with the Los Angeles Galaxy hosting New York City FC on Sunday Night Soccer Presented by Continental Tire (7 p.m. ET, Apple TV), followed by a Western Conference matchup between Seattle Sounders FC and Colorado Rapids on FS1 (9 p.m. ET, FS1, FOX Deportes, Apple TV).

Inter Miami CF will play their first match at the new Miami Freedom Park Stadium on April 4th

The 2026 regular season schedule features the introduction of the league’s newest soccer-specific stadium, with Inter Miami CF hosting Austin FC on April 4 (7:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV) in its first game at the club’s new 25,000-seat Miami Freedom Park. Inter Miami’s new stadium will be the first of three MLS stadiums to open in consecutive years, including New York City FC’s new Etihad Park in 2027 and Chicago Fire FC’s new Downtown Stadium in 2028.

MLS will suspend league activities from May 25th to July 16th during the 2026 FIFA World Cup

While North America welcomes the world to the 2026 World Cup, MLS will take a break from play to allow participating players, venues and fans a full month of World Cup action. With World Cup rosters expected to include a record number of MLS players, MLS will suspend league play after the May 24th match until the FIFA-mandated player reporting date of May 25th, and until resuming after the international tournament. Five MLS stadiums will host World Cup matches during the hiatus, and a number of others will serve as potential base camps for national teams.

MLS matches resume for 2026 World Cup finals

After the FIFA World Cup semi-finals, the passion and energy of the 2026 World Cup will continue at club level with key MLS matches on July 16 and 17, ahead of the World Cup Third Place Playoff on Saturday, July 18 and the 2026 World Cup Final on Sunday, July 19.

Four MLS matches will capture the world’s attention, including the historic Cascadia showdown between Seattle Sounders FC and Portland Timbers on July 16th, and two other high-profile matches will be broadcast on July 17th, including LA Galaxy vs. LAFC’s El Traffico, on FOX Sports and Apple TV, as the best of MLS competition is showcased in various regions of the United States and Canada.
