MADRID (AP) – South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in has agreed to join Atlético Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain, the Spanish club announced Saturday.

Atlético have announced that the player will sign a contract until June 2031. The transfer fee is not disclosed, but it is reported to be between 35 million and 40 million euros ($39.8 million and $45.5 million).

Lee Min-ho, 25, played in all three games in the group stage of the World Cup, but South Korea lost two and failed to advance.

Born in Incheon, Lee moved to Spain at the age of 10 to join Valencia’s training academy, eventually making 62 appearances for the club. After playing well with Mallorca, he joined PSG in 2023, playing 124 games and scoring 16 goals.

He will now play for Atlético, a team that finished fourth in La Liga last season and reached the Copa del Rey final. Lee will help fill the creative void left by Antoine Griezmann, who moved to MLS as Atletico’s all-time leading scorer.
