Kickoff will take place at 3:00 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. Argentina are aiming for their fourth title and Spain their second, potentially becoming the first country to hold World Cup crowns in both men’s and women’s football at the same time.
This was the 104th match of the biggest World Cup in history, a tournament that featured 48 teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico. With more matches played than any previous World Cup, it was no surprise that there were more goals scored than in all other competitions. He has 307 goals and that number is increasing by Sunday.
If Argentina and Spain score at least two goals in the final, the average number of goals per game at this World Cup will be the highest since 3.6 in 1956. (Even if the team scores less than two goals on Sunday, this would be the highest average points per game since the 1970 World Cup, when they scored 2.97 goals per game.)
The highlights aren’t just limited to soccer.
Post Malone will headline the closing ceremony, which begins 90 minutes before the final. FIFA’s first halftime show will feature headliners Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira and BTS, as well as appearances by Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS 22 Chorus featuring Coldplay, and characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
President Donald Trump is also scheduled to attend, and he is expected to participate in the trophy presentation ceremony at the end of the game.
Argentina will be wearing a light blue and white vertically striped uniform for this match, while Spain will be wearing a predominantly red uniform with navy sleeves. The referees will be from Slovenia, with Slavko Vincic as the referee and Tomas Krančnik and András Kovacic as assistant referees.
