manchester united On Tuesday, Aston Villa signed Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans on a five-year contract.
The move comes a day after the signing of Tielemans was announced for a reported £35 million ($46.8 million). Brazil national team midfielder Andrei Santos joins the team From Chelsea.
United are looking to revamp their midfield this summer following Casemiro’s departure as a free agent.
United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, said: “Yuri has consistently been one of the Premier League’s most outstanding midfielders over the past seven years. He has all the technical qualities as well as the ambition and mentality to succeed at Manchester United.”
Tielemans has just returned from the World Cup after making 90 appearances for Belgium. He won the FA Cup with Leicester City in 2021 and the Europa League with Villa last season.

This is the culmination of many years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.” “I have had the privilege of experiencing success in this game and it has made me even more determined to achieve even more.”

Wilcox said Tielemans, 29, fits into that plan.

On Tuesday, United also signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds, on a two-year contract with the option of a further year.
