Javier Matias Pastore is two generations younger than Lionel Messi and they played together on the Argentina national team. The PSG legend (2011-18) and former Elche player is currently Enzo Fernandes’ legal representative. At an event held in Miami as part of AFA’s global expansion through its academy, El Flaco spoke to Enzo about Enzo, the World Cup, and other topics. ”
Q. What are your thoughts on the World Cup?
A. I’m watching a very competitive World Cup. A team I didn’t expect much from is struggling. I like seeing all the stadiums filled. I have been through all of Argentina’s games and am very happy with everything I have seen from the team.

Q. Do you see a final between Spain and Argentina, your two favorite countries, as a possibility?
“A. It’s going to be a great opponent. I think France and Spain are the toughest opponents we could face in the final. So I hope we can get there, because that’s the most important thing.”
Q. You represent Enzo Fernandes. How is his performance in the tournament?
A. He is very positive and is having a very good World Cup. He contributed to the team’s easy wins in the first two games.
Q. Do you think you perform better as a defensive midfielder or a central midfielder?
A. Enzo has changed his position significantly in recent years. He has played deeper or as a midfielder in the box. Here with the national team, he starts in a deep position, but ends up being the only midfielder to stand up in the attacking line and stay close to Messi. He is a player who can adapt well to any position.
Q. Do you see him at Real Madrid?
R. Today, the player is calmly thinking about the national team, he is participating in the World Cup, he is very close to reaching the last 16… He is thinking only about that and we are considering the possibility of leaving Chelsea, but no firm decision or confirmation has been made with any club.
Q. He has already said that he loves Madrid…
A. He has a lot of friends there and Julián Alvarez and I are very close friends and we end up together whenever we have time together. And I also live in Madrid. He used to meet me every time he traveled to resolve work-related issues, but other than that, who doesn’t like Madrid? I’ve never even played in Madrid…even lived in Madrid.
Q. You are a PSG legend. How long will your dominance in Europe last?
R. They have a team that continues to dominate, they are young and have a strong ambition to continue winning, a coach who understands the players and the club perfectly at that point, he has won the Champions League two years in a row and has done something truly unbelievable and he will continue to do so. Luis Enrique is a manager with tremendous ambition and the club has given everything to help him continue to achieve great things.
Q. Do you want to play for this PSG?
A. No, not at all (lol).
