EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Victor Lindelof’s wife fell off a mechanical bull.
Maya Nilsson Lindelof Posted an Instagram video On Thursday, he posted a picture of himself being thrown from a bull over the bars while Sweden played in Texas during the World Cup, adding: “I’m still a little drunk while posting this so I might delete it later.”
Sweden captain Victor Lindelof said this on Monday ahead of their last-32 match against two-time World Cup champions France. “It was a fun video, so it would be fun to try it out.”
Maya, the founder of the fashion brand Lis Bonne Atelier, married Victor in 2018 while he was at Manchester United. In the 59-second video, she first climbs backwards onto the bull, then dismounts to consult with a friend before mounting the horse again. She hangs on for a moment before being thrown onto her back.
Victor Lindelof said he would be willing to try to match her feat.
“It looked difficult, but I’m up for the challenge,” he said.

“Obviously we have to play the biggest game of our lives, but I think the players are in a very good position to do it,” Sweden coach Graham Potter said.
Lindelof, who turns 32 next month, moved from his usual backline position to defensive midfield against Japan. Mr. Potter praised his leadership.
“It’s not easy to deal with a 5-1 loss in a tournament. It can destabilize a lot of teams,” Potter said. “So the fact that we had the strength and ability to get the points we needed against Japan and perform like that says a lot about the environment and the culture of the team. I think a lot of that is down to Victor’s leadership. So I’ve been very impressed with that since I’ve been with the team.”
Lindelof was especially pleased that his children will be able to attend Tuesday’s game at MetLife Stadium. His wife posted a photo from New York’s Times Square on Monday.
“We were looking forward to this opportunity and in the end we were able to work it out and they were able to come here to New York,” he said through an interpreter.
Lindelof started several games in Aston Villa’s midfield this spring. In the match against Japan, he moved to midfield, but was sent off in the 87th minute due to leg cramps.
“There’s a big difference between playing in midfield and playing in defense. You have to be constantly on the move,” he said. “I don’t think I can last 90 minutes in midfield. I don’t know if I have the legs to last anymore, but it’s fun to play there. Let’s see if I can last 90 minutes.”
Isaac Hien is injured and will miss the match against France
Defender Isaac Hien suffered a hamstring injury in the 37th minute against Japan last Thursday and was forced to miss the match.
