ROME (AP) — Former Italy national team coach Gennaro Gattuso He was officially hired by Lazio on Tuesday.
The Serie A club announced the news in a short statement, but did not reveal details of the deal. Italian media reported that Gattuso had signed a two-year contract.
The newspaper said, “Lazio have announced the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso as head coach of the first team.”
“The club is confident that his experience, professionalism and determination will contribute to the achievement of the club’s sporting objectives.”
Gattuso resigned from his post in Italy in April, days after the incident. Azzurri failed to qualify To participate in the World Cup for the third consecutive year.
Gattuso has previously managed AC Milan and Napoli in Serie A, winning the Italian Cup with Napoli in 2020.
