The driver, a 31-year-old man from Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, dangerous driving, possession of a Class C drug and refusing to provide a sample. He was released on bail while our investigation continues. ”
Stirling was released on bail pending further progress in the case. His representative declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Sport.
A person close to the footballer spoke about the difficult times he has been going through for some time. “The psychological pressure he’s under is immense. He’s isolated. Every time he touches the ball, they say he’s a failure and it’s over. They laugh at him and heckle him.
He went to the Netherlands to escape and regain his love for soccer, but negativity followed him. The past few years have been extremely tough for him, and this incident sums it all up. ”
The blow after leaving City
Sterling’s career changed direction after he left Manchester City to sign for Chelsea in the summer of 2022. He arrived at Stamford Bridge after winning 10 major trophies with Josep Guardiola’s side, including four Premier League titles and one FA Cup. Chelsea paid him £50 million in transfer fees and offered him a five-season contract on a weekly wage of £325,000.
His spell at the London club was marked by a lack of continuity. He was eventually removed from then manager Enzo Maresca’s so-called “bomb squad” and, after losing his reputation within the team, was forced to train away from the first team for more than six months. He then had an unsuccessful loan spell with Arsenal during the 2024-25 season, and his contract with Chelsea ended a few months later.
In February he found a new opportunity at Feyenoord. There he played eight games but did not score until the end of the season, and his contract is about to expire. He left the club in 2015, establishing himself as an elite player at Liverpool to begin his most glorious days at Manchester City.
He played 82 games for the England national team. His last appearance was in the 2-1 loss against France in the quarter-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Meanwhile, the investigation into the accident and subsequent arrest is still ongoing.‘
