HOUSTON (AP) — Guilherme Santos, known simply as “Guillerme,” scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time, Jonathan Bond made three saves and the Houston Dynamo defeated Vancouver 1-0 on Saturday night, ending the Whitecaps’ winning streak at seven.
Bonds earned his fourth shutout win of the season for the Dynamo (7-6-0).
The Whitecaps (9-2-2) lost for the first time since March 21st. 1-0 They lost at home to San Jose.
Yohei Takaoka was shown a red card in the 64th minute, and Vancouver played the rest of the game alone. Defender Tate Johnson was sent off, and Isaac Boehmer found the net in Takaoka’s place. Boehemer and Takaoka each had three saves.
Dynamo defender Diadier Samasekou was taken off the field by ambulance due to a concussion following the collision. Agustín Buzato was substituted for Samasekou in the 34th minute.
Guilherme, on the right side, dived into the right corner of the penalty area and fired a shot. Low shot at the near post.
