Bayern Munich finally lifted the Bundesliga trophy on Saturday as Harry Kane increased their goalscoring record with a hat-trick.

Kane scored his fourth hat-trick of the season, taking his tally to 36 in Bayern’s 5-1 win over Cologne in the final game. He is five goals shy of the league record set by Robert Lewandowski in the 2020-21 season.

Tom Bischoff and Nicholas Jackson also scored.

Bayern finished with 122 goals, easily surpassing the Bundesliga record of 101 goals scored by the 1971-72 Bayern team that featured Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller.

Who is Leon Goretzka? Leaving the club after 8 seasonsI decided on the goal of broke the record There are still five rounds left.

“We have a great group and a great sense of unity, so it’s great to be able to celebrate our successes,” Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said after the club’s second league win.

With the exception of Bayer Leverkusen’s remarkable domestic unbeaten season In 2024, Bayern have won every Bundesliga title since Borussia Dortmund won back-to-back titles in 2012.

It was a day of celebration for the Bavarian giants as French winger Michael Auries, who scored 15 goals in 32 appearances and scored a further 22, was named the Bundesliga’s player of the season on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany’s team concluded the title There were still four rounds left, but the players had to wait until Saturday before they could claim the “Salad Bowl” trophy.

Captain Manuel Neuer, who extended his contract with the club for another year on Friday, handed Goretzka the trophy, which exploded with confetti as it was hoisted into the air and the familiar Queen hit “We Are the Champions” blared as the celebrations began.

A traditional beer shower quickly followed, and giant pitchers of beer were brought onto the field to target anyone unfortunate enough to be thirsty. Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano gave Kompany a drink of water before the drenched manager was able to join his family on the sideline.

“I think it’s okay to have a little celebration today,” Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich said. “Then we will have a week and then we will concentrate completely on the cup final.”

Bayern will face defending champions Stuttgart in the German Cup final next Saturday at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
