EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Forward Cristo Fernandez, the actor who played Dani Rojas on the Apple TV series “Ted’s Lasso” He signed with El Paso Locomotive FC of the USL to play soccer professionally.
Terms of The deal was announced Tuesday.which still requires approval from the second division and the Football Federation, but was not disclosed.
Fernandez was signed after a two-month trial with the team and appeared in a preseason game against New Mexico United. He played soccer at youth level, but an injury at the age of 15 led him to pursue an acting career.
“No matter where life took me, the dream of competing professionally never left my mind,” Fernandez said. “I would like to thank El Paso Locomotive FC, the club, coaches, staff and especially my teammates for opening the door and giving me the opportunity to play from day one.”
Locomotive coach Junior González said Fernandes is a great addition who brings passion and leadership to the locker room while providing additional attacking threat.
