Dudinha had a goal and an assist to lead the San Diego Wave to a 2-1 victory over Southern California rival Angel City in the National Women’s Soccer League on Saturday.

In other NWSL matches, Gotham FC drew 1-1 with Boston Legacy. And the Denver Summit dominated the Houston Dash, 4-1.

Dudinha beat multiple Angel City defenders and fired a shot, but it was deflected by defender Sarah Gauden for the opening goal in the 49th minute.

Gauden equalized in the 54th minute with her first career assist to centre-back partner Emily Sams.

San Diego (6-3-0) took the lead for good in the 81st minute when Dudinha’s cross was headed in by rookie defender Mimi Van Zanten. Dudinha’s fourth assist tied her for the league lead with Portland’s Olivia Moultrie.

Angel City (3-4-0) started the 2026 season with three straight wins, but has now lost four straight games.

Former Angel City head coach and current Wave assistant Becky Tweed leads the club, which suffered a red card in last weekend’s 1-0 home loss to Bay FC that saw Jonas Eidevall suspended.

Gotham FC and Boston Legacy continue undefeated records

Alba Cagno’s goal ended Gotham’s streak of shutouts and held the Boston Legacy to a tie on the road in Harrison, New Jersey.

Esther González’s initial shot was denied by Boston goaltender Casey Murphy, but the rebound found its way into Jadyn Shaw’s path, giving Gotham (4-2-3) the lead in the 37th minute.

Barbara Olivieri fed a pass to Cagno in front of the goal to tie the game in the 40th minute, ending Gotham’s streak of consecutive shutouts at 341 minutes.

Gotham midfielder Rose Lovell was out with a hamstring injury, and Sara Szpanski started in her place.

Gotham is undefeated in four games in a row, and Boston (1-5-2) is undefeated in three games in a row.

Janine Sonis’ two goals lead Summit.

In a game delayed more than 90 minutes due to inclement weather, Janine Sonis, making her 100th NWSL start, scored twice to give Summit the lead over the hosts’ dash.

In the 15th minute, Yazmeen Ryan dropped the ball into Sonis’ path for a 1-0 lead. Natasha Flint stole the ball and calmly slotted it into the goal to make it 2-0 in the 34th inning.

After a video review, Flint’s foul on Daniel Colaprico in the box gave the Dash a penalty, which was scored by Maggie Graham in the 43rd minute to make it 2-1.

Denver regained a two-goal lead in the 49th minute when Delaney Sheehan converted Ayo Oke’s cross inside the box. Ryan and Sonis connected again in the 72nd to advance to the summit (2-3-3).

Colaprico started his 200th game, becoming the fourth player in NWSL history to reach that mark.

Houston (3-4-1) is winless in its last four games.
