CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Katy Perry will perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on June 12 before the first match of the World Cup in the United States, as FIFA announced entertainment Friday night before the first match in all three countries hosting games in the expanded 48-nation tournament.
Rappers Future, Lisa and Tyra, singer Anitta, singer/rapper Rema and DJ Sanjoy are scheduled to take part in the pre-game ceremony between the USA and Paraguay.
In addition to Tyra, the entertainment ahead of the opening game of the tournament between Mexico and South Africa, to be held at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium on June 11, will include singers Alejandro Fernandez, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Belinda, J. Balvin, and the groups Los Azures and Mana.
The opening match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto’s BMO Field will feature entertainment from singers Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Jesse Reyes, Nora Fatehi, William Prince, Elianna, Vegedream and DJ Sunjoy.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin 90 minutes before kickoff.
