MUNICH (AP) – Canada’s left-back Alphonso Davies has injured his hamstring, with more than a month left until the tournament is co-hosted by his country. world cupBayern Munich announced on Friday.
The club said team doctors expect Davis to be out for “several weeks” before Canada’s World Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 12.
Bayern announced that Davies injured his left hamstring during Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain, which eliminated the German team from the Champions League semi-finals.
Davis, 25, is one of Canada’s top players, scoring 15 goals in 58 games. He helped Bayern to seven Bundesliga titles and the 2020 Champions League title.
Bayern, who have already won the German league championship, will end their season with the German Cup final against Stuttgart on May 23.
