“From the Maracanã Stadium, this is the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song ‘Die Die,'” the Colombian singer wrote on social media on Thursday, sharing a one-minute teaser clip of the new song. She also mentioned that Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
In the short video, Shakira appears on the field of Maracanã Stadium with dancers. “This is this place / This is where you belong,” she sings in English, as male voices harmonize. “What once broke you / What once made you stronger.”
According to her post, all songs will be released on May 14th.
The FIFA tournament will open on June 11th with Mexico vs. South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The final game is scheduled for July 19th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City.
Shakira is no stranger to World Cup anthems. Her song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” became the official song of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“Dai Dai” is not to be confused with Coca-Cola’s official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem. A reinterpretation of Van Halen’s “Jump”. Colombian singer J Balvin,drummer travis barker Pop/R&B singer Amber Mark and guitarist Steve Vai.

“‘Jump’ is not a soccer song,” he said of the original song, using the Spanish word for soccer. “That’s why we had to capture the Latin love and passion for football (in the lyrics).”
