CREMONA, Italy (AP) – Cremonese lost 2-1 at home to Lazio in Serie A on Monday, giving up a first-half lead and missing out on a chance to grab a crucial point in the fight to avoid relegation.
Cremonese have won just one of their last 21 league games. With three games remaining, they remain third from the bottom with a four-point difference from safe 17th-placed Lecce.
The home side took the lead in the first half when Federico Bonazzoli’s left-footed shot went under the body of Lazio goalkeeper Edoardo Motta.
Gustav Isaksen equalized for Lazio in the second half, and Tijani Noslin scored the winning goal with two minutes left in stoppage time.
For Cremonese, Jamies Vardy, who had missed four games with a muscle strain, came on as a substitute, but he did not produce any results.
Lazio moved into eighth place, two points ahead of Bologna and Sassuolo.
