ATLANTA (AP) — Saba Lobjanidze scored in the second half and Atlanta United rallied to beat CF Montreal 3-1 on Saturday night.
matty Longstaff caught the pass. A goal from Prince Owusu in the sixth minute gave Montreal (3-7-0) an early lead. It was Longstaff’s second goal of the season and fourth in 67 career games. Owusu recorded his fourth assist, one shy of his career high from last season.
Lobjanidze uses an assist. Goals by Alexei Miranchuk and Pedro Amador in the 41st minute tied Atlanta United (3-7-1). Lovjanidze appeared in 33 games last season and did not score. He scored 12 goals in his first 39 games for the club.
Miranchuk establishes Emmanuel Latte Las He scored his second goal of the season six minutes into stoppage time, giving him a 2-1 lead at halftime. Miranchuk’s assist was his first of the season with two assists and Latte Lass’ ninth career goal in 41 games.
Lobjanidze scores Five minutes into the second half, they had a two-point advantage. Cooper Sanchez, an 18-year-old rookie midfielder, recorded his third assist.
Lucas Hoyos made four saves in his 10th start for Atlanta United in his first year in the league.
Thomas Guillier stopped two shots in his 17th career start for Montreal.
Atlanta United improved to 9-5-5 overall against Montreal, including 7-1-1 at home.
