american women’s national team will play two matches against Brazil in June at venues in São Paulo and Fortaleza, which will host matches for the Women’s World Cup in 2027.
This will be the first time the United States will play the Brazilians on their home soil since 2014. The teams will face each other on June 6th at the Neo Quimica Arena in São Paulo, followed by June 9th at the Arena Castellan in Fortaleza.
“We want to play the best teams as often as possible in the most difficult environments at venues around the world, and these two games tick all those boxes,” U.S. coach Emma Hayes said in a statement Thursday. “We need more games where all the fans in the stadium are cheering loudly and I’m looking forward to seeing how the team performs and develops under these adverse conditions.”
The U.S. U-23 women’s team will travel with the top team to play a Brazilian club team in Sao Paulo.
The United States has played Brazil six times in the South American country, playing 2-2-2. The Americans played in Brazil at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, but did not play against the host nation.
The United States and Brazil last met twice in the United States in April 2025, with the United States winning 2-0 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, but losing 2-1 at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.
US Defeated Brazil 1-0 and won the gold medal. At the 2024 Paris Olympics. Overall, the United States is 34-4-5 against Brazil.
Hayes continues to prepare his team for World Cup qualifying at the CONCACAF W Championships, which begins in late November.
