TORONTO (AP) — Defender Kobe Franklin scored his first career goal in the 88th minute to lift Toronto FC to a 3-3 tie with Austin FC on Saturday.
Toronto (3-2-3) extended its undefeated streak from last year to six seasons and 12 at home. The club is 2-0-3 in five home games and 4-0-8 in the winning streak.
defender john Bell used a nifty spin trick. He scored an unassisted goal in front of the net in the 29th minute, giving Austin a 1-0 lead. Two of Bell’s five career goals came this year, his first season in Austin (1-3-4).
Daniel Saroj continued his strong start. In his first season with Toronto, he scored from a deflection in the 52nd minute to tie the score at 1-1. Saroy has totaled 54 goals in nine seasons with Sporting Kansas City, including three this season.
Defender Richie Larrier scored an unassisted goal in the 67th minute to give Toronto a 2-1 lead. His first RBI of the season was his 14th in 165 career games.
Facundo Torres used the assist. Goals from Robert Taylor and Milt Uzuni tied the game in the 78th minute, and Cristian Ramirez found the back of the net four minutes later to give Austin a 3-2 lead.
Torres scored his first goal in his first season in Austin after playing in 95 games and scoring 37 points with Orlando City. Ramirez scored two goals in his first season with the club, giving him 57 goals in 192 career games.
Franklin ties Toronto evenly. In the 88th minute, he deflected a rebound off the right post, making his 69th appearance.
Luka Gavran totaled three saves in his eighth start of the season and 24th career game for Toronto.
Brad Stuber saved eight shots for Austin, including six in the first half.
