Manager Josep Guardiola won the Carabao Cup against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the final at Wembley, winning 2-0 with Nico O’Reilly’s two goals, winning his 40th title as manager. “We didn’t give a penny for today’s win. We couldn’t win against Nottingham Forest at home (in the Premier League), we couldn’t win against West Ham away, and we lost 5-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid (in the last 16 of the Champions League).”
I didn’t give a penny for today’s victory.
But the players, the veterans and especially the newcomers, showed once again that when something needs to be done during an unstable season, they did it today,” the Spanish coach said after the win.

“I think what I said the other day is true. The team is below[the top level]but I feel like we can shine… The Carabao Cup is not the Champions League or the Premier League, but if we beat that team (Arsenal), the title will be special. The fifth Carabao Cup in 10 years is not bad at all. Every time you win a title, it feels harder than the last. It’s really difficult for many reasons,” he said.
Josep Guardiola: “Arsenal are the best team in Europe, along with Bayern Munich and Barcelona.”
“We don’t shy away from challenges. That’s what sport is about. They (Arsenal) are the best team in Europe, along with Bayern Munich and probably Barcelona,” the Manchester City manager said, excluding Real Madrid from the top three teams in Europe.
