Raul Jimenez became the standard player for Mexican soccer in Europe and established himself as the top scorer in the Premier League.
The Club America youth player, first with Wolverhampton and now with Fulham, is already England’s most prolific Mexican player with 67 goals.
Raul Jimenez ‘infallible’ from penalty spot
Although he is nowhere near the great stars in terms of overall numbers, there is one section that stands out above the numbers of the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. It was a goal from the penalty spot.
Since making his debut in Liga MX, Jimenez has converted 42 penalties out of 44 in all competitions, giving him a success rate of 95.5. His failures were with the Mexican national team and with Wolves in the Europa League.
According to Transfermarkt statistics, Messi has scored 114 out of 146 attempts from the penalty spot, a success rate of 78.1%, while Cristiano is better at 83.4%, scoring 181 goals in 217 attempts.
Raul Jimenez, Premier League’s best penalty taker
Just over a week ago, on February 22, Raul Jimenez scored his 13th penalty goal in 13 attempts as Fulham beat Sunderland 3-1.
