Bottom Wolverhampton are shocked premier league Champions Liverpool won 2-1 at Molineux Stadium on Tuesday.

Brazilian midfielder Andre delivered a deflected shot in the fourth minute of stoppage time, dealing a blow to Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

The game had a thrilling ending that sent Wolves fans into a frenzy.

“That’s Liverpool Football Club. It doesn’t matter what position we are in at the moment. Whenever we beat them, we have to enjoy their moment,” said Wolves manager Rob Edwards, who rushed to the touchline in celebration after Andre’s goal brought rare joy to a season destined to end in relegation.

The match came to a dramatic end, with Mohamed Salah scoring in the 83rd minute, putting an end to his match. No goals scored in 10 league games —Rodrigo Gomez put Wolves ahead in the 78th minute and then Liverpool equalized shortly after.

Andre’s long-range shot was deflected by Joe Gomez and wrong-footed by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as both teams searched for a winner.

“I feel great. It was a great game and a great night,” Rodrigo Gomez said.

It was Liverpool’s ninth league defeat this season and the defending champions could slip to sixth place if Chelsea beat Aston Villa on Wednesday.

The top four teams are guaranteed a place in the Champions League, but English clubs’ performances in Europe this season are likely to earn them a bonus spot for fifth place in the Premier League.

Liverpool, who escaped with the title last season, are 16 points behind leaders Arsenal.

“We have lost too many football matches and dropped points,” Liverpool manager Arne Slott said. “All three of our losses in the last 22 games have been in overtime.”

The Wolves’ victory marked their first consecutive league wins of the season. that beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Friday.

Their chances of survival are slim given they are 11 points off safety, but they have enjoyed a late-season surge, including a recent 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

“What we’re doing at the moment is showing fight and spirit and some quality. We’re competing with everyone,” Edwards said.

Everton gives home fans something to cheer about

Everton achieved a rare victory at their new stadium by defeating relegation contenders Burnley 2-0.

Goals in both halves from James Tarkowski and Keenan Dewsbury-Hall ensured Everton’s fifth league win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium since moving to their new home at the start of the season. The win moved David Moyes’ side to within one point of seventh-placed Brentford, who drew 0-0 with Bournemouth, and increased their chances of qualifying for Europe.

“We were in great form away, but we haven’t gotten enough points here,” Tarkowski said. “We let ourselves down in some games here, conceded some poor goals and didn’t take chances.

“We’re very close to qualifying for Europe. We’ve got nine games left so we’d like to get some wins and see where we end up. We’re not looking down, we’re chasing them.”

Leeds lost again

Leeds are in danger of being dragged into the relegation zone after consecutive defeats.

Habib Diarra’s second-half penalty gave Sunderland a 1-0 victory at Elland Road.

Leeds are six points above the drop zone but that could be reduced if 18th-placed West Ham pick up a point against Fulham on Wednesday.

FA Cup

Port Vale, who sit at the bottom of England’s third tier, defeated Bristol City 1-0 in extra time and will face Sunderland in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Ben Wayne scored the winning goal in the 112th minute to defeat Bristol, who are 10th in the Second Division Championship.
