Mohamed Salah has now gone up to 10 games without scoring in the Premier League.
Fortunately for the Egyptian star, his Liverpool team-mates had no trouble finding the back of the net against West Ham on Saturday, continuing the defending champions’ mid-season recovery.
Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Codi Gakpo scored for Liverpool, who also forced an own goal as the team piled up more than four league goals for the first time this season.
Liverpool have won four consecutive games in all competitions and six of their last seven, but their only win came at home to Manchester City. Arne Slott’s side are level on points with fourth-placed Manchester United, who play Crystal Palace at home on Sunday.
Salah’s last league goal for Liverpool came a long time ago, against Aston Villa on November 1st. This is his longest run in the competition since he joined from Roma in 2017.
On what was a high-scoring day in the Premier League, Brentford conceded a three-goal lead, but Mikel Damsgaard scored the winning goal in stoppage time to beat penultimate Burnley 4-3. But there was drama late on, with Ashley Barnes thinking she had equalized in the final seconds, but her goal was canceled out by VAR.
Everton beat Newcastle 3-2, while Bournemouth fought back to draw 1-1 with Sunderland to extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
