PARIS (AP) – Marseille’s chaotic week continued as they conceded an equalizing goal in stoppage time in a 2-2 home draw against Strasbourg on Saturday.
Marseille were up 2-0 after Amin Gouiri scored one goal and converted another. However, Marseille’s weak defense gave way and striker Joaquín Panichelli saved a point with a penalty in the 97th minute.
“Once again we conceded a goal late on and in the end we wasted everything,” Goiri said. “When things happen dozens of times, it’s not the coach’s (tactical) choices, it’s our problem on the field.”
Lens then needed a win against struggling Paris FC to regain top spot from Paris Saint-Germain, who they defeated on Friday.

Gouiri once again showed great technique, curling Marseille’s second goal in the 47th minute after picking up a clearing error by goalkeeper Mike Penders and attempting to pass out without touching the ball.
