a One symptom that United haven’t had is Frank Illett’s hair, which has been one of his best times of late. The English club’s most famous fan didn’t cut his hair for 493 days. After the Red Devils’ poor run, he decided he wouldn’t go to the hair salon until his team won five games in a row. He is currently in Spain for a live broadcast of a match organized by Double Tap, where he could take on the challenge. A few hours before the fifth leg against Paco Jemez’s West Ham, Frank spoke to Marcaquest: How do you feel ahead of the fifth leg and the decisive battle?A: I’m very excited. It took a long time, I thought it would be over in 3 or 4 months, but it lasted longer than I expected. I’m so excited to get my fifth win and cut my hair.
Going back in time, how did this idea come about in the first place?A: I started spreading this on social media just for fun, and it ended up going viral. The main thing was to try to make people laugh and smile.
No, I have never been offered money to not get my hair cut tomorrow. There’s still time.
Have any of the Manchester United players spoken to you during this time?
Not directly. Quite a few people have been asked about me in interviews and they obviously know the issue, but they definitely have more important things to worry about than my hair.
What did your family and friends say when you started this “madness”?
I think they enjoyed it the whole time, but I don’t think they expected it to last this long.
What is the most incredible thing that has happened to you during this time?
I think during this trip I was able to talk about me with certain celebrities and football players. Everything was crazy.
You know better than anyone how difficult it is to deal with social media. Do you ever feel too much pressure?
It can be difficult. I never expected it to become this big. Of course, there is always a negative side to social media, but I try to forget about it.
I’m not relieved yet, but I think it will be after the 5th win.
Now, 493 days later, you’re on your way to achieving it. What were the days like after United won their fourth title?
I don’t feel secure yet, but I think it will be after my 5th win. Anything can happen in football, but the truth is, I’m excited. We have been playing very good football since Carrick arrived.
Has anyone offered you money to not get your hair cut tomorrow?
No, not yet. There’s still time.
If Manchester United win, will you cut your hair 100%?
Be sure to cut it and donate it to a charity that makes wigs for cancer patients.
This challenge was simple but very long
What style will you get?
Since you are donating it, I think you need to shred it. But I’d like to start over and see what happens.
Do you really want to beat Manchester United?
I’m a Manchester United fan so I want to see them win. I didn’t want to be a content creator, so what happens after that is a bonus. The first thing we need to do is see them win.
Will you be taking on similar challenges again in the future?
Probably not, at least for a while. I feel like I need a break. This challenge was simple but very long
