Wrexham are on the rise as they aim for promotion and a place in the Premier League for the fourth year in a row.
Wrexham, the Welsh club co-owned by Hollywood celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, moved into sixth place in the Second Division Championship on Saturday after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers thanks to two goals in stoppage time.
The top two teams secure automatic promotion, with teams third to sixth qualifying for the end-of-season play-offs for one more promotion spot.
It is the first time this season that Wrexham have finished the round in the play-offs.
Wrexham played 29 of their 46 games in their first Second Division campaign since the 1980s, following their third successive promotion. The meteoric rise up the English football pyramid, facilitated by a cash injection from Reynolds and McElhenny and chronicled in the popular TV series Welcome to Wrexham, began with promotion from the non-league fifth tier in 2022.
The latest victory came after Josh Windass equalized in the third minute of stoppage time and Ollie Rathbone grabbed the winner a minute later at Loftus Road.
