AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – Uruguay winger Facundo Torres has signed a designated player contract with Austin through 2030, the MLS club announced Friday.
Torres played three seasons in Orlando from 2022-24, recording 47 goals and 25 assists. He signed with Austin on a transfer from Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Austin team officials said this includes an option for the 2030-31 season.
Torres, 25, had 10 goals and six assists with Palmeiras in 2025. He has played 22 international matches for Uruguay.
“Facundo has proven his offensive quality throughout his career, as evidenced by his impressive goal and assist numbers,” said Austin FC Sports Director Rodolfo Borrell. “He is at the right age to join us and immediately become a top contributor as we look to move forward this season.”
