BRIGHTON, England (AP) – Teenage substitute Sharalampos Kostouras scored with an audacious overhead kick in stoppage time to help Brighton draw 1-1 at Bournemouth on Monday.
The 18-year-old Greek international brought down Jan Paul van Hecke, lifted the ball to his chest and performed a perfect bicycle kick from about 10 yards out.
The result extended Brighton’s unbeaten run to five games and left them 12th in the Premier League with three points, three places ahead of their south coast rivals.
Fabian Hürzeler’s side started well but lost momentum in the first few minutes and Bournemouth took the lead with a controversial penalty in the 32nd minute.
Brighton goalkeeper Bad Verbruggen was adjudged to have fouled Amin Adli in the box and, after a video review, Marcus Tavernier confidently took the penalty.
