MILAN (AP) — Christopher Nkunku scores the equalizer in the 90th minute; ac milan Extended undefeated record Serie A Sunday’s 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Fiorentina left them with 18 games remaining.
Milan host defending champions Napoli at the San Siro later on Sunday in a game that could have a huge impact on their standings, moving them within two points of leaders Inter Milan.
Milan looked set to suffer their first defeat since August until Nkunku received a through ball from Youssuf Fofana and curled a diagonal shot into the back of the goal.
It was Nkunku’s third goal in four games. Having joined from Chelsea in August, his drought was ended last month with a brace against Verona.
Pietro Comuzzo put Fiorentina ahead midway through the second half with his header from a corner kick.
And the Viola still almost had the victory when Marco Brescianini’s shot hit the crossbar deep in stoppage time.
Milan striker Christian Pulisic failed to capitalize on his two early chances.
Fiorentina are one point ahead of Hellas Verona and bottom-placed Pisa.
Earlier, Parma won 2-1 against Lecce with an own goal from Thiago Gabriel and a goal from Matteo Pellegrino. Parma moved seven points above the drop zone, while Lecce left Fiorentina just three points ahead.
Verona then hosted Lazio.
