MUNICH (AP) – England midfielder Georgia Stanway has announced that she will leave German club Bayern Munich at the end of this season.
Stanway, 27, is in his fourth season at Bayern, where he has scored 26 goals in 106 games and won three consecutive Frauen-Bundesliga titles.
“The decision to leave Munich and my team was incredibly difficult” Stanway Post to Instagram Saturday. “At the end of the season, I want to say goodbye to the club and the fans with as many titles as possible.”
Stanway has been a standout midfield player in recent years, helping England women win back-to-back European Championships in 2022. 2025and scored two goals in both editions of the tournament.
He scored a hat-trick in a friendly match against China last November, bringing his record in international competitions to 29 goals in 83 games.
Stanway vowed to “give everything” for Bayern until he leaves the club, but did not mention his future destination.
She won the Women’s Super League and three FA Cups with her former club Manchester City before joining Bayern in 2022.
