TURIN, Italy (AP) — of juventus Owners publicly rejected a takeover offer from a cryptocurrency company on Saturday, guaranteeing they would become the world’s most successful club. Serie A History will continue to be controlled by the Agnelli family.
Cryptocurrency company Tether has made an offer worth around 1 billion euros (about $1.2 billion) for a majority stake in the Agnelli family, the record holder of 36-time Italian champions.
“Juventus, our history and our values are not for sale,” John Elkann, CEO of the Agnelli family’s holding company Exor, said in a video message posted on the club’s website.
“Juve has been part of my family for 102 years,” Elkann added. “For a century, four generations have encouraged and strengthened it, cared for it in difficult times and celebrated it in many celebratory moments.
Elkann, the grandson of Fiat king Giovanni ‘Gianni’ Agnelli, added: “We continue to support the team and look to the future to build a winning Juve.”
Juventus has not won Serie A since winning nine consecutive titles from 2012 to 2020. The Turin club sacked manager Igor Tudor last month and hired Luciano Spalletti after a struggling start to the season.

“Exor reaffirms its previous and consistent statements that it does not intend to sell its shares in Juventus to any third party, including but not limited to Tether, which is based in El Salvador,” Exor said in a statement.
“Juventus is a renowned and successful club, and Exor and the Agnelli family have been stable and proud shareholders for over a century and will continue to contribute their fullest to the club and support the new management team in the implementation of a clear strategy to deliver strong results on and off the field.”
