LIVERPOOL, England (AP) – Mohamed Salah has been left out of Arne Slott’s squad for Liverpool’s Champions League game against Inter Milan following harsh public criticism of the club.
The Egyptian forward was not named in the 19-player squad when the team traveled to Italy on Monday. He had previously appeared in good spirits in training in England.
“It seems like the club threw me under the bus,” Salah said after being left off the bench for the third consecutive game on Saturday, adding he had “nothing to do” with Slott.
Salah won two Premier League titles and also won the Champions League during his eight trophy-filled years at Anfield. he signed a 2 year contract He extended his contract in April, just before winning his second Premier League Player of the Year award.
Salah is scheduled to represent Egypt at the African Cup of Nations this month before the January transfer window opens.
