Crystal Palace moved into fourth place in the Premier League after defender Marc Guehi scored a late goal against Fulham on Sunday.
Guehi headed home the winning goal from a corner kick in the 87th minute, putting Palace in the Champions League places. Palace have overtaken Everton and Chelsea and are now four points behind third-placed Aston Villa.
The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from Eddie Nketiah, before Harry Wilson equalized for Fulham in the 38th minute.
Palace won their second consecutive league win, while Fulham, who remained in 15th place, suffered their second consecutive defeat.
Fulham had a goal ruled out in the second half after a video review.
The Premier League title race is blown open on the following Saturday villa Second-placed Manchester City beat Sunderland 3-0 before scoring in stoppage time to beat Arsenal 2-1 and cut the Gunners’ lead to just two points.
Liverpool’s troubled title defense stumbled again as they dropped another point against Leeds.
Brighton equalized late on
Georginio Rutter scored his first Premier League goal of the season in stoppage time to save Brighton from a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham.
One minute into second-half stoppage time, Rutter exploited a gap between West Ham’s defenders and scored the equalizer with a close-range shot. A goal was confirmed after a video review of a possible handball by a player during the build-up.
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler said: “He deserves it and we’re very happy to have him in the seat. This will give us encouragement for the next game.” “Overall, it was a disappointing result. We wanted more but we didn’t deserve more, especially after our first-half performance.”
Jarrod Bowen put the visitors ahead with an angled shot in the 73rd minute.
For 7th place Brighton, it was their second straight league match without a win.
West Ham are without a win in their last four league games and remain in 18th place, above the relegation zone.
