BARCELONA, Spain (AP) – Barcelona’s second match at the Camp Nou stadium did not go as planned as some 7,500 supporters struggled to access virtual tickets on Saturday. 3-1 victory over Alaves.
Club vice president Elena Font said fans were unable to download virtual tickets from the club app. She apologized to affected ticket holders and said the club was working to resolve issues related to the new digital system it was using.
The club responded to the incident by sending PDFs of tickets to ticket holders, but said this did not prevent long lines, delays and inconvenience to fans.
Font said the club believes all but 300 of the affected ticket holders were able to enter the stadium.
Barcelona have three days left before their La Liga match against Atletico Madrid.
