Pochettino wants to return to the Premier League: Does he regret joining the USMNT?

○People always return to the places that made them happy. Mauricio Pochettino wants to make sure that premise remains valid in the future. He wants to return to the Premier League and knows English football well. Because it helped me grow as a coach and gave me the best years as a manager. He is very clear about his main motivation for setting this goal: “It’s a very competitive league.”

Mauricio Pochettino: USMNT showed unity and fighting spirit

The three clubs he managed in England were Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. With Spurs, he reached the Champions League final in the 2018-2019 season, but lost 2-0 to Liverpool. Due to his good performance on the bench, he was hired by Paris Saint-Germain and won the French Super Cup (2020), French Cup (2020-2021) and Ligue 1 (2021-2022).

I’m very happy to be in America, but I’m thinking about returning to the Premier League someday.

Mauricio Pochettino

His comments about his current status as U.S. national team coach came just over a year after he took over the reins of the U.S. national team and on the eve of the World Cup, of which he will be one of the hosts. But that doesn’t mean he forgot his responsibility and dedication to the Star-Spangled Banner. In fact, he has a clear purpose.

Do you regret joining the USMNT?

Not at all. As he said, he is happy. He is focused on doing well at the World Cup. Similarly, he operates with the intention of transmitting the football culture that he owns and has in his DNA: football as an identity and belonging. He knows that the sport is not among the American public’s preference priorities, but he also understands that there is a generation that is slowly becoming more passionate about the sport.

“A year on, I think we’re making great progress. We’re building with people who speak the language of football, and we don’t care if you’re American, Brazilian or British. Our football is about competing in any way you have to if you want to win.”

Lionel Messi, inspired to score

Recognize that Lionel Messi is an important work that introduces a passion for football and an understanding of football to a country that is not characterized by its customs. He acknowledges that there is a change in this regard, with a gradual increase in the population taking an interest in the game of soccer, giving it similar or close value to that given to baseball, football, and basketball.

I think players like Messi help not only kids who want to play basketball, American football, baseball, but now kids who want to play soccer as well.
