PARIS (AP) – Luis Diaz on Wednesday wished Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi a “quick return” after he was given a red card for injuring an opponent in a tackle. Match in the Champions League.
Diaz scored both goals Bayern’s 2-1 win against PSG on Tuesday gave them their 16th consecutive win in all competitions, the statement said. However, just before half-time, he was sent off for a reckless challenge on Hakimi.
Hakimi’s left leg appeared to have been pinched during the fall, and he was immediately sent off.
“It was a night full of emotions. Football always reminds us that anything can happen in 90 minutes, the best or the worst. Sad to not be able to finish the game with my teammates, but proud of their great effort,” Diaz wrote on Instagram. “I hope Hakimi returns to the pitch soon.”
PSG have not yet announced how long Hakimi will be out. The Moroccan international is key to the club’s bid to win the Champions League in 2025 and has played in all but two games in all competitions this season.
Dias was equally important for Bayern, scoring 10 goals in his first 16 games for the German champions. He will miss Arsenal’s Champions League visit to Arsenal on November 26 after receiving a red card.
