PARIS (AP) — Bayern Munich’s Luis Diaz scored twice in Tuesday’s Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain, but was sent off just before halftime for a reckless foul on Achraf Hakimi.
Hakimi cried as he was consoled by his teammates before being helped off the field at the Parc des Princes. Diaz made a hard lunge from behind, and Hakimi’s left leg appeared to get caught for a moment before he fell.
Diaz was shown a yellow card, but referee Maurizio Mariani upgraded it to a red card after a video review.
Hakimi became PSG’s second player to be substituted in the first half. Ousmane Dembele leaves the club The player, who had just returned from a right thigh injury, scored in the 25th minute.
Dias, a former Liverpool player, stood out for his movement and finishing before wild tackles.
Diaz scored from close range in the fourth minute after goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier saved Michael Olise’s shot.
The goal came after a quick counterattack from Bayern as Dembele lost the ball in midfield and Serge Gnabry played a quick pass to Olise, forcing him into the penalty area.
Diaz found the back of the net in the 4-0 win over Club Brugge, making it his second consecutive goal.
The Colombian international added another point in the 32nd minute with a sharp shot from close range after PSG captain Marquinhos’ poor defense. Marquinhos failed to see Díaz lurking in behind and clumsily lost the ball on the edge of the penalty area. ___
