LONDON (AP) — England forward Michel Agyemang will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a friendly against Australia.
Agyeman scores a decisive goal for England Aiming to win the title at Euro 2025was carried off on a stretcher during the second half of England’s 3-0 win over Derby on Tuesday.
“I am so grateful for everyone’s kind words and support,” Agyemang wrote on Instagram on Thursday. “The recovery begins now. You’ll come back stronger than before.”
Agyeman is currently on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, but Arsenal have announced that he will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to injury.
Arsenal said: “We are in close contact with Brighton to determine Michelle’s treatment and recovery programme.” “We are committed to supporting Michelle as she begins her road to recovery.”
Agyeman, 19, was named UEFA’s Euro 2025 Young Player of the Year after coming on as a substitute and scoring in England’s dangerous situations in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
