MILAN (AP) — Christian Pulisic AC Milan announced on Friday that he injured his right hamstring while playing in a friendly against the United States this week.
“The MRI scan carried out today revealed that he has a slight tear in his right hamstring,” Milan said, adding that Pulisic “will be re-examined in about 10 days.”
Such injuries can heal in as little as three weeks, making the city derby against Inter Milan on November 23rd one of the targets for Pulisic’s return. This season, he is playing as a mainstay for Milan, who are third in Serie A.
Pulisic appeared to overextend his right leg when he was tackled in the first half. 2-1 victory They will face Australia on Tuesday at Colorado Rapids Stadium.
The United States has friendlies scheduled for November 15th and 18th against Paraguay and Uruguay, both of which, like Australia, have qualified for the first 48-team World Cup. The United States will co-host the tournament with Canada and Mexico.
