BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has returned from international break with a left hamstring injury and may miss next week’s Spanish league Clasico against Real Madrid.
Barcelona announced on Tuesday that Lewandowski’s next match would depend on the speed of his recovery, but Spanish media reported that Lewandowski was unlikely to be ready for the match against Real Madrid on October 26.
Barcelona are trailing Madrid by two points after eight matches.
On Sunday, Lewandowski scored Poland’s second goal in a 2-0 win against Lithuania in the 2026 World Cup European Qualifier. The striker played the entire match.
Lewandowski has scored four goals in nine appearances for Barcelona this season. He also scored two goals for Poland.
Barcelona also have Spanish forward Ferran Torres dealing with a hamstring problem.
