AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – Christian Pulisic, Anthony Robinson and Alejandro Zendejas could all miss the U.S.’s friendly against Ecuador on Friday.
“There are issues with some players like Christian and Anthony Robinson, who didn’t train today, and we’ll have to decide tomorrow whether they’re available or not,” U.S. manager Mauricio Pochettino said on Thursday. “I don’t think Alex will play in tomorrow’s game.”
The Americans will also face Australia on Tuesday in Commerce City, Colorado.
Robinson said Wednesday he was still regaining fitness after right knee surgery in May. The status of Pulisic and Zendejas has not been announced.
After this month, the U.S. national team will play just four friendlies before Pochettino calls his players to training camp before the World Cup. The matches against Paraguay and Uruguay in November, and another match in March.
