LONDON (AP) – Martin Odegard has withdrawn from Norwegian team for upcoming matches, including World Cup qualifiers against Israel.
Norwegian captain Odegard suffered an medial secondary ligament injury to his left knee early in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat of West Ham on Saturday, the club said. This season he marked the third time he left in the first half of the game due to an injury. Odegard also suffered from shoulder problems.
Arsenal didn’t provide the expected timescale for Odegaard’s latest injuries, but it’s simply saying “with the aim of returning to action as soon as possible” and “continue to be evaluated and treated by our medical team.”
Norway will host Israel on Saturday and then play friendly against New Zealand three days later.
