MADRID (AP) – Teenage forward Franco Mustantouno has become the youngest player to start in the Champions League with Real Madrid.
33 days ago, in 18 years, Mustandouno began on Tuesday with Madrid’s league phase opener against Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The Argentine forward defeated the mark set last year by Brazilian striker Endrick. He was 18 years old and began heading towards Madrid against Lille 73 days ago.
Previously, Madrid’s youngest Champions League starter from the group stage to the final was Raúl González, 78 days ago, who faced Ajax in 1995.
