Melbourne, Australia (AP) – Former Manchester United and Spanish midfielder Juan Mata have moved again in Australia and joined Melbourne’s second A-League stint after leaving West Sydney.
37 years old Mata The club joined the victory on a one-season contract announced on Tuesday. He scored one goal with seven starts in 23 appearances against the Wanderers in West Sydney.
“I’m excited to come to Melbourne and be one of the league’s most respected clubs and play in front of incredible members and fans,” Mata said in a statement.
Winning coach Arthur Direz is trying to make one better after losing to Melbourne City 1-0 in a championship match after reaching the A-League Grand Final last year.
“We are extremely fortunate to add some of Juan’s experience and some of the characters to our team,” Dires said in a statement.
Before moving to Australia, Mata’s career included the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 Euro victory in Spain. He won the Copa del Rey in Valencia in 2008 before moving to Chelsea, winning the Champions League, FA Cup, Europa League and FA Community Shield between 2011 and 2014.
Mata He spent nine years at Man United, winning the Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield, scoring 51 goals in 285 appearances.
He then had short stints at Galatasaray and Vissel Kobe, winning the Turkish and J1 League Super Rigs, respectively, before joining Wanderers last September.
