NOTINGHAM, UK (AP) — Nottingham Forest has fired manager Nuno Espirito Santo after a deterioration in cooperation with the club’s owner.

“The Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that Nunoespirito Santo has been released from his duties as head coach today following the recent situation,” the club said in a statement released late Monday. “The club would like to thank him for his contributions in his role in his highly successful days on the city ground, particularly in the 2024-25 season.

“As someone who played a pivotal role in our success last season, he always holds a special place in our journey.”

“I’ve always had a very good relationship with the owner. Last season (it) was very, very close,” Nuno preceded the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on August 24th. “It’s not that good this season.

Marinakis, also owns Greek champion Olympiacos, and is known for his football. A big personality with strong opinions How he runs his club.

Last month, Nuno admitted that his working relationship “based on trust and shared opinions” was “not so good now.”
