Mexico City (AP) – Later 18 Months of DisputeThe stadium director announced Friday that Aztec Stadium’s luxury box owners can use it at the 2026 World Cup without paying extra fees.

Unlike the other two stadiums in Mexico that will host next year’s games, the Aztecs had problems with their box owners. They respected contracts from the construction of the stadium 60 years ago, allowing unlimited access to seats for 99 years.

“We have completed negotiations and contracts with FIFA. We are in the final stages of announcing us today, as we announce that owners will enjoy access during the World Cup,” stadium director Felix Aguirre said in an interview with Radio Formula.

“It was a long process. I appreciate the patience of those involved.”

To help fund the construction of the stadium in the 1960s, Mexican businessman Emilio Azcarlaga Mirmo sold the box to private investors for 115,000 pesos, or about $9,000 at the time, giving the owner the right to use it for 99 years. This included access in Mexico during the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

but The owner of the box was worried FIFA rules are about access to next year’s World Cup, as they will need to control the World Cup stadium 30 days before the first match and the last seven days after the first match.

The Aztecs will host the opening match of the World Cup and four other games.

“In the end, justice won, just as the rule of law was. We weren’t going to negotiate,” said Roberto Luno, secretary of the Box Owners Association. “The contract is made to be respected. We must thank Emilio Azcarlaga because he intervened in this settlement.

There is a stadium with 83,000 seats Renovation And I have sponsorship Renamed.

Aguirre added that Ollamani, the company that owns the stadium, will pay FIFA the costs for those boxes, but he did not disclose the amount.

The stadium director added that box owners will receive an official announcement later Friday, including access requirements.

“There are issues like parking, food, drinks, fan IDs needed to enter, and I disagree, but I respect them,” Ruano says.
