As the first team of the season to secure a spot in the Major League Soccer playoffs, San Diego FC is still trying to build up as many points as possible.
The playoffs are not the only goal of the expansion team.
San Diego, who won the berth in 28 games, is the fastest expansion team to reach the playoffs since the Seattle Sounders did it with a 29 in 2009. SDFC has secured the location A scoreless draw at home on a Saturday night For Portland wood.
SDFC also participates in tough races for supporter shields to secure the best regular season records. The Western Conference leader, sitting at 53 points, is behind the Eastern Philadelphia Union.

“Of course, qualifying for the playoffs, that’s amazing and a great achievement for the team. And it’s good to do that early,” midfielder Anders Drayer said. “But we’re still aiming for six games left to continue to score many points.”
Dreyer claims to be the most valuable player of the season, earning 13 goals and 17 assists leading the league. The team’s first signature, Mexican international highling “Chucky” Rozano, has eight goals and eight assists.
“I think our feelings are that we are in the playoffs now, so now we’re in a position to say that the first step is complete and we can hold our chest high and we want it all,” midfielder Jeppe Tverkov said. “I think we’ve proved ourselves. I think we’re confident. I think we still have a lot of respect for every game that’s right in front of us, but I feel we’re playing with confidence all season…I don’t know why we can’t compete with every team.”
San Diego is unique among the league teams. It is owned by Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour and the Sikuan tribe, the first Native American tribe in the United States to acquire ownership on a professional soccer team.

“If you have a clear vision as a player, staff or club, you have a target to reach out and hire the right people and sign the right players, people who are the over-a-chievers. “But that’s not an absolute guarantee. We’ve done a lot of hard work, so you don’t take the season we have for granted.”
