NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Newcastle manager Eddie Howe hopes that Alexander Isaac will be able to reintegrate into his team despite the disgruntled striker saying he can’t continue his relationship with the club. An explosive middle half of the week post On social media.
Isak broke the silence over his complaints in Newcastle by posting a statement on Instagram, saying the club had broken his promise of an agreement that would allow him to leave in interest from Liverpool and repeated his desire to move.
Newcastle responded to Isaac’s explosion, saying that club officials had no commitment to let the strikers go. He said he has not received enough offers from another Swedish International team. The transfer window will close on September 1st.
Liverpool was a visitor to St James Park on Monday, and Howe said Isaac would not be involved and missed his second consecutive game after a 0-0 draw at Aston Villa over the league’s opening weekend.
But Howe still believes the club can resolve the differences with ISAK.
“He’s contracted with us, he’s our player,” Howe said at a press conference Friday that he was dominated by questions about Isaac. “My wish is that he will play with us on a Monday night, but he is not, which is a shame at the moment.
“But 100% would like him to go back to his Newcastle shirt and see him.”
Howe said Newcastle said it would “justify.”
The manager added that Isak has continued training from the main team and has not met this week.
“There’s no problem between us,” Howe said. “Of course, it’s a difficult situation from both sides and isn’t ideal for both parties.”
With 23 goals, Isaac was second in the Premier League scoring charts behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Sarah last season.
