Vancouver, British Columbia (AP) – Jose Artur has found the net for the first time this season.

Brian White scored the team-high 13th goal of the season six minutes after the game to give Vancouver (13-6-7) an early lead. The penalty kick was awarded after Jaden Nelson painted a foul on Houston defender Griffin Dorsey.

Artur used Amin Bussy’s assist in the first minute of Houston (7-11-8) extra time. It was Artur’s fifth career goal in 232 appearances with Dynamo and the Columbus crew. Bassy was primed for Sebastian Kowalchik in the 64th minute before collecting the third assist of the campaign.

Longtime German FC Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller made his debut for the White Caps when he became Zivan Badwal in the 61st minute.

Yohei Takaoka finished one Whitecaps SANE, beating the Dynamo 3-0 in Houston in July.

Jonathan Bond stopped two shots for the dynamo.

Houston’s Brooklyn Raines picked up yellow cards at each half of the downtime, leading to red cards and suspension for Saturday’s game against the San Jose earthquake.

Vancouver will host the city of St. Louis on Saturday.
