LONDON (AP) – Tottenham blames “co-sick” for racially abused French forward Massy after his team Loss to Paris Saint-Germain After a penalty shootout, he was in the UEFA Super Cup.
The 20-year-old black Tel was one of two Tottenham players who were unable to convert the penalty after losing Shootout 4-3 to PSG after a 2-2 draw.
“We are tired of the racial abuse that Mathys Tel suffered on social media following last night’s UEFA Super Cup defeat,” Tottenham said in a statement.
“Matthew has shown courage and courage and willing to move forward and take a penalty, but the person who abuses him is nothing more than a coward. Hiding behind an anonymous username and profile, he vents abominable views.”
Tottenham said the club will work with authorities and social media platforms to take “the strongest possible action against the individuals we can identify.”
“We’re standing with you, Massie,” Spurs added.
After last season’s loan spell, Ter, who permanently joined the team from Bayern Munich in the offseason, was replaced in the 79th minute when Tottenham took the lead 2-0.
